Halloween is Banned!

The big day is getting closer, one of the highlights of our calender here at The Gothic Shop is the 31st of October! Halloween will be here sooner than we think after all it is only a month away!
Most of us will have amazing parties or spooky events to go to, but even if you don't there's no need to feel left out of the celebrations! Gothic Fashion is very much on the cards this winter with skull and crossbones motifs found everywhere, but we know skulls are not just for Halloween and can be worn all year round!

The Gothic Shop have just restocked on Banned clothing and accessories- a brand that takes Goth style, along with punk, steam punk and retro aspects and makes them wearable everyday. But there are pieces in the Banned collection that I have fallen head over heels in love with - as I am sure you will too!

While Banned have some pretty amazing accessories and t-shirts this week it is the frocks that seem to have caught my eye! The Gothic Shop team have restocked some of the Banned dresses on the website- newly listed and just in time for Samhain too. The Banned range is totally adorable! You can find those spookily themed dresses made from fabrics that are ever so flattering on your figure, wear any one of the fabulous frocks from the Banned range and you will be onto a winner!

Try teaming with any of the cameo and Victoriana inspired accessories from The Gothic Shop.

At the other end of the spooky style spectrum it this quirky little retro number from Banned. You could always opt for any of Banned's great range of 1950's Space age and Zombie inspired mini dresses. This ghoulishly gorgeous gown is really something: Think the Jetsons meets the Bride of Frankenstein! The very cute comic inspired print makes for a very eye-catching print, with the neon being perfect for that Halloween knees up! Whether you decide to wear with that oversized flower hair accessories or bright fish net stockings  you will turn heads! (hopefully not in a 'zombie' way!)

Tartan at The Gothic Shop

Tartan has been around since time immemorial, in the same way as polka dots or stripes have.  Hailing back from the days way up there in the highlands, invented as a way of sussing out someone's clan! And then all over those cute little pieces of luggage back in the 1970's. Punk also made Tartan very cool soon after this in the 1980's with the likes of fashion designers Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren clocking onto the trend. Who could forget Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols making a statement in his Tartan suit? A little kooky, yes but effortlessly punk at the same time.
But Tartan for your Gothic wardrobe? Yes! It's quirky, cute and fun making it perfect for that alternative outfit! Here are just a few pieces  from the Hell Bunny range new in at The Gothic Shop.

Tartan Zipper Halterneck Dress by Hell Bunny  £38.40
This saucy halterneck zipper dress from Hell Bunny in a Tartan fabric is available in two colour options: A traditional red and black or a pretty plum purple with black. Pinched in at the waist and when worn with a flared petticoat ensures that cool retro goth look. We just love this delicious addition to any Gothic wardrobe!

Olly Red London Tartan Uneven Witchy Skirt by Hell Bunny £23.50

This adorable little number has all those essential punk aspects: The detachable silver chain, and the zipper and ribbon fastenings too. The uneven edge adds a quirky twist, short and sassy but still long enough to cover your backside! A daring daytime look as well as evening one with ripped tights, heels or your fav knee high buckled boots.
